CHICKASHA, Okla.—With the first Oklahoma Robotics Competition of the season just around the corner, high schools across the Sooner State are busy testing out their inventions.
Among those eager to compete are the newly formed “Cock-A-Doodle Dominators” of Chickasha.
Each year, students are given a task for their robot to complete.
This year’s assignment is titled “Rebound Rumble” where robots are supposed to shoot balls to score points.
The team says they are prepared for the tough competition as the robot has been known to launch objects almost 30 feet.
Organizers say the goal behind robotic clubs is to spark interest in students for science and engineering.
